Websites, online stores, and marketing for small farms

Cultivate Local helps farms, meat processors, and food makers sell more of what they raise and make. I build websites and online stores that are easy to buy from, and run the email and ads that bring customers back.

Based in Indianapolis. Working with farms anywhere.

Who I work with

  • Small farms selling meat, produce, eggs, dairy, or flowers
  • Meat processors and butchers selling direct
  • Food makers: cheese, jam, baked goods, sauces
  • Food hubs and co-ops selling for a group of farms

On most farms, marketing gets whatever time is left after chores, deliveries, and markets. I take that work off your plate, or set it up so it takes far less of your time.

How it works

  1. A free first call

Thirty minutes on what you sell, how you sell it today, and what isn't working. If I'm not the right fit, I'll say so.

  2. A written plan and quote

You'll know the scope, the timeline, and the cost before any work starts.

  3. The build and the handoff

I build it and walk you through running it. Your site, store, and email list stay in your name, always.

Packages

Most projects fit one of four packages. On the first call we'll figure out which one makes sense for you, or whether you need something custom.

I've worked from your side of the business

Before I built websites, I sold local food. I worked in sales and marketing at Traders Point Creamery as their milk and yogurt went into stores across the country, then owned Wildwood Market, a local-food grocery in Indianapolis. I know what it takes to bring customers back every week.

Today I also run online stores, email, and ads for food brands that ship nationwide. Cultivate brings that same work to farms and local food businesses.

You work directly with me from the first call through launch. When a project needs a photographer or a developer, I bring in people I trust and you'll know who's involved.

Questions farmers ask me

Do I need Shopify?

No. I'll recommend what fits how you sell. Sometimes that's Shopify, sometimes Square, Barn2Door, or GrazeCart, and sometimes just a good website and an order form.

I'm not in Indiana. Does that matter?

No. I work with farms and food businesses all over the country. Calls and screen shares work great.

What should I budget?

Packages start at $350. The free call is where we sort out what you need and what you don't.

Can I update things myself after?

Yes. Every build comes with a recorded walkthrough, and I'll go through it with you live.

Let's talk about your farm.

Calls are Tuesday through Friday, 3 to 7pm Eastern. Or call or text (765) 721-0820, or email hello@cultivatelocalfood.com.
